Gem Lake Painting was born from one simple idea: if I wanted more out of life, I’d have to build it myself. After years in the service industry doing jobs that didn’t fit—and didn’t pay—I finally found something I was good at, enjoyed doing, and could grow into. Painting became more than just work; it became a way to provide for my family, take pride in a skill, and build something of my own.

I’m Luke Iverson, the founder of Gem Lake Painting, and this business is personal to me. I was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities, and after marrying my wife Emily—who grew up in White Bear Lake—we made our home in Gem Lake. That name stuck with me. When it came time to name the business, I wanted something rooted in our community and our family values. That’s how Gem Lake Painting got its name—and why it means something real to us.
Today, my life revolves around my wife and our three young kids: Emersyn, Greyson, and Rowyn. I work hard because I want to give them a life they can be proud of. When I’m not working, you’ll find me outdoors, helping with my kids’ sports, or trying to sneak in a fishing trip—though the Minnesota exterior season doesn’t leave a lot of room for that.
